This approaches the flood of record. * WHERE...Portneuf River at Topaz. * WHEN...Until further notice. * IMPACTS...At 4.0 feet, Lowland and crop field flooding possible from Pebble Creek to Inkom. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1:15 PM MDT Thursday the stage was 4.2 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 1:15 PM MDT Thursday was 4.3 feet. - Forecast...The river will fall to 4.2 feet Saturday morning. It will then rise to 4.4 feet Sunday evening. It will fall to 4.2 feet Thursday, May 02. It will then rise to 4.3 feet Saturday, May 04. It will fall to 4.2 feet Sunday, May 05 then rise again. - Flood stage is 4.0 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 4.5 feet on 02/22/2017. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Information: Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks. ...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Idaho... Portneuf River at Pocatello affecting Bannock County. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast for later today. * WHERE...Portneuf River at Pocatello. * WHEN...Until further notice. * IMPACTS...At 8.5 feet, Sections of Sacajawea Park will be under water and the trail is usually closed at this level. Marsh Creek near Inkom may also be over its banks. At 9.2 feet, Flooding of low lying agricultural land and pasture will occur in the Inkom and Blackrock area. Lowland flooding is likely along sections of the river between Portneuf Gap and the Cheyenne Avenue Bridge in Pocatello. At 9.4 feet, Water will encroach around sitting benches near the river at the Pacific Recycling Trailhead. At 10.0 feet, Significant flooding of agricultural land will occur from the Inkom and Blackrock area. Lowland flooding will occur along sections of the river in Pocatello from Portneuf Gap to the Cheyenne Avenue Bridge and downstream of the concrete channel beginning at Sacajawea Park. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1:45 PM MDT Thursday the stage was 10.0 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 1:45 PM MDT Thursday was 10.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 11.0 feet Sunday morning. - Flood stage is 8.5 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 11.1 feet on 02/01/1911. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Information: Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.
