AVWPIH

* WHAT...The avalanche danger is HIGH. The combination of heavy
snowfall and strong winds are overloading a weak snowpack.

* WHERE...The southern Salmon River Mountains, Sawtooths, White
Clouds, Smokys, Western Smokys, Boulders, Pioneers, and Soldier
including the mountains above the Wood River Valley and near
Banner Summit, Atlanta, Stanley, Smiley Creek, Ketchum, Hailey,
Bellevue, Carey, Fairfield, Galena Summit, and Trail Creek
Summit.

* WHEN...Until 5 AM MST Sunday.

* IMPACTS...Natural and human-triggered avalanches large enough to
bury people, snap trees, or destroy structures are very likely
to occur. Avalanches may strike roadways, trails, and buildings
in valley bottoms.

Information:
Very dangerous avalanche conditions exist. Travel in avalanche
terrain is not recommended. Stay of off and out from below steep
slopes, slopes steeper than 30 degrees. Avalanches may be
triggered remotely, from flat terrain above, below, and to the
side steep slopes.

Consult www.sawtoothavalanche.com or www.avalanche.org for more
detailed information.

Similar avalanche danger may exist at locations outside the
coverage area of this or any avalanche center.

Avalanche Warning  AVALANCHE WARNING   Avalanche Warning
ARCO/MUD LAKE DESERT

Areas Affected:
Caribou Range - Big Hole Mountains
Effective: Fri, 3/1 7:26pm Updated: Sat, 3/2 12:01pm Urgency: Unknown
Expires: Sun, 3/3 12:00am Severity: Unknown Certainty: Unknown

Details:
AVWPIH

* WHAT...Avalanche warning. The avalanche danger is expected to
increase to High overnight. Intense snowfall rates and
increasing winds will make natural avalanches likely and human-
triggered avalanches very likely.

* WHERE...Northwest Wyoming including Togwotee Pass, the Teton,
Snake River, Salt River, and Wyoming Ranges. Mountainous areas
of southeast Idaho including the Webster, Preuss, Caribou, Snake
River and Big Hole Ranges.

* WHEN...In effect until Midnight Sunday morning.

* IMPACTS...Heavy snowfall and strong winds will create dangerous
avalanche conditions. Roof slides, and separate non-avalanche
hazards like tree wells and snow immersion, are also likely.

Information:
Very dangerous avalanche conditions will develop tonight. The
combination of intense snowfall and wind will create wind slabs
that will be large and easy to trigger. Avalanche conditions will
be most dangerous on slopes with windblown snow, but triggering a
slide breaking on steep, sheltered slopes is also possible. Avoid
terrain exposed to steeper slopes overhead, and avoid wind-loaded
terrain. Human-triggered and natural avalanches are very likely.
Avalanches may involve deeper, weak layers of snow and produce a
larger avalanche than expected. Avalanches could run onto low
angle terrain, hitting paths, roads or groomed snowmobile trails.

Consult bridgertetonavalanchecenter.org or www.avalanche.org for
more detailed information.

Similar avalanche danger may exist at locations outside the
coverage area of this or any avalanche center.
