* WHAT...Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations above 3000
feet of 8 to 12 inches. Total snow accumulations below 3000 feet 2
to 6 inches. Winds gusting as high as 50 mph.

* WHERE...Eastport, Wallace, St. Maries, Lookout Pass, Clark Fork,
Dobson Pass, Priest River, Fourth Of July Pass, Osburn, Schweitzer
Mountain Road, Pinehurst, Athol, Kellogg, Mullan, Bonners Ferry,
Sandpoint, and Fernwood.

* WHEN...From 10 PM this evening to 4 PM PST Thursday.

* IMPACTS...Expect winter driving conditions in the mountains.
Ridges exposed to southwest wind will experience blowing and
drifting snow. Isolated power outages may also occur due to the
gusty winds.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snowfall rates up to an inch per hour are
possible in the mountains.

* WHAT...Snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 2 to 6 inches.
Winds gusting as high as 40 mph.

* WHERE...Northport, Plummer, Tiger, Newport, Genesee, Coeur
d'Alene, Kettle Falls, Colville, Springdale-Hunters Road, Moscow,
Fruitland, Orin-Rice Road, Flowery Trail Road, Chewelah, Deer
Park, Post Falls, Metaline Falls, Worley, Hayden, Ione, Potlatch,
and Metaline.

* WHEN...From 7 PM this evening to 10 AM PST Wednesday.

* IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous
conditions could impact the morning commute.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snow will transition to rain Wednesday
morning that could lead to slush on roadways.

Panhandle Avalanche Center.

The Idaho Panhandle Avalanche Center in Sandpoint has issued a
BACKCOUNTRY AVALANCHE WATCH for the following areas:
NWS Missoula MT - MT 053 (Lincoln County)...MT 061 (Mineral
County)...MTC 089 (Sanders County) NWS Spokane WA - ID 017
(Bonner County)...ID 021 (Boundary County)...ID 055 (Kootenai
County)...ID 079 (Shoshone County)

* WHAT...The avalanche danger for the warning areas and the IPAC
forecast zones may rise to high by Wednesday, February 28th.

* WHERE...Elevations above 5,000 feet in the St. Regis/Silver
Valley area, Selkirk Range, West and East Cabinets and the
Purcell Range of Northwest Montana.

* WHEN...In effect from Tue 09:00 PST to Wed 09:00 PST.

* IMPACTS...Heavy snowfall and strong winds are forecasted for
Wednesday (Feb 28th)-Sunday (March 3rd) at elevations above
4,000 feet. 20 to 60+ inches of snow are forecasted to fall
during that time. The new snow and wind will cause dangerous
avalanche conditions in steep and mountainous terrain.
